Billinghay and District Twinning Association: 1986-2011

New members were introduced at the annual meeting of the Billinghay and District Twinning Association. A numberof topics were discussed, including the visit of the French families in October [2005].

This year’s [2005] theme is Travel and in order to qualify for EU funding the association has to devise a theme that will benefit both twinning groups and has some relevance to current affairs. In view of the increase in people movement, the Billinghay association decided to look back over modes of transport and also look at transport of the future, including space travel.

To link in with the theme, a trip has been arranged to the National Space Centre at Leicester, as well as visits to Boston docks and Lincoln’s transport museum.

The Twinning Association will soon be launching a recruitment campaign to encourage new members to join. For information,
