Arising from the Discussion Meeting,

3rd October 2007

Billinghay and District Twinning Association and Ballon Committee de Jumelege will continue to recruit new members.  Both organisations will attempt to broaden their membership particularly with relationship to young families and disadvantaged members of the community.

BDTA will appoint an officer with responsibility for encouraging migrant workers to become involved in their activities and/or join the organisation.

BDTA will appoint an officer with responsibility for encouraging people with disabilities to become involved in their activities and/or join the organisation and supporting them if they do so.

BDTA and BCdeJ will investigate the possibility of involvement of other town(s) from new EU member states in their twinning.

A regular report on the activities of BDTA will appear in the Billinghay Newsletter.

Reports on the activities of BDTA will be submitted for inclusion in the Newsletters of nearby villages.

Events will be organised to encourage more interest in the EU and its member states and to educate and inform people about them (on the lines of the "Games of Europe" evening). These will be advertised locally and open to all.

Contacts will be maintained between BDTA and Billinghay Primary School and Lafford
Secondary School to encourage the children’s and their families' interest in the French language, in Ballon and the EU. This will include awarding prizes and sponsoring prizewinners families to go on twinning visits.

We will ensure that future meetings involve more interest in issues concerning everyday life and that adequate language interpretation is available to hosts and visitors in everyday and domestic situations.

Communication between Billinghay and Ballon will be improved by exchanging minutes of meetings.

BDTA will ensure that it adheres to the values of the EU and that such values are incorporated in it's constitution.
